Halara’s Guide to Safe Vaping
Last reviewed: August 2025
Clean Vaping, No Compromises
At Halara, “clean” isn’t a tagline—it’s our operating system. Every cartridge we ship is made from cannabis oil and terpenes only, rigorously tested, and backed by a transparent Certificate of Analysis (COA). No mystery additives. No shortcuts. Just safe, consistent, great-tasting cannabis vapes made in California.
Why vape safety matters—right now
Regulators in California have issued multiple mandatory recalls of vape products over the past year after finding banned pesticides—including chlorfenapyr—during testing. That’s not rumor; those are official state actions. Department of Cannabis Control+3Department of Cannabis Control+3Department of Cannabis Control+3Los Angeles Times
California also tightened rules around how vape hardware is labeled and marketed, with new integrated cannabis vaporizer requirements taking effect in 2024 to improve consumer messaging and end-of-life handling. Department of Cannabis Control+1
Bottom line: what’s inside the cart—and how it’s made, tested, labeled, and sold—matters more than ever.
What “clean” means at Halara
Only cannabis oil + terpenes. We never use vitamin E acetate, PG/PEG, MCT, or other cutting agents—period. (California also restricts what can be in inhalable cannabis products; our formulations align with those limits.) Department of Cannabis Control
Every batch, third-party lab tested. California requires testing for cannabinoids, heavy metals, microbial impurities (including pathogenic Aspergillus), mycotoxins, residual pesticides, and residual solvents/processing chemicals—and your COA shows those results. Department of Cannabis Control
Pesticide-free is non-negotiable. State rules set zero-tolerance for a list of Category I pesticides (like chlorfenapyr) and strict action limits for Category II compounds (e.g., myclobutanil, bifenazate, imidacloprid). Our batches must pass before they ship—no exceptions. Department of Cannabis Control
Hardware you can trust. We source compliant components and verify results through the same accredited, state-mandated testing framework that screens for heavy metals and foreign material. Department of Cannabis Control
Radical transparency. Scan the QR on our packaging to see the full COA for your exact batch. If you have questions, we’ll walk you through what each line means.
How our testing procedures protects you (and how we go beyond marketing words)
The Department of Cannabis Control (DCC) sets and enforces testing standards and performs recalls when necessary. Those standards require comprehensive screening for: cannabinoids, foreign material, heavy metals, microbial impurities, mycotoxins, moisture/water activity (where applicable), residual pesticides (Category I and II), and residual solvents/processing chemicals. Department of Cannabis Control
California also requires new packaging and marketing rules for cartridges and all-in-one vapes, including prominent disposal messaging—because these devices aren’t “throw-away” electronics. Department of Cannabis Control
And finally, the state continues to educate consumers to buy from licensed retailers and verify product legitimacy—a simple habit that dramatically reduces risk. Department of Cannabis Control
How to spot a clean, compliant vape (in 30 seconds)
Buy trust brands at licensed dispensaries. Shop at licensed California retailers; regulators publish recalls and safety notices publicly. Department of Cannabis Control. Some brands have more recalls than others so take that into consideration.
Check the COA. Scan the QR on the package to see batch-specific lab results that include pesticides, heavy metals, solvents, microbials, and mycotoxins. Department of Cannabis Control. We at Halara proudly put this on our box!
Read the ingredients. Look for cannabis oil + terpenes only. Avoid carts that list added flavoring agents or cutting oils not permitted for inhalation. Department of Cannabis Control
Look for proper labeling. All-in-one vapes must carry disposal guidance; “disposable” language is not allowed under California rules. Department of Cannabis Control
Our promise
We’re here to make it easy to enjoy cannabis without worrying about what’s in your cart. That’s why we keep our inputs simple, publish COAs for every batch, and follow the letter—and spirit—of California’s testing and labeling rules. If it doesn’t pass, we don’t ship it.
Have questions about a batch? Scan your box and message us. We’ll happily walk you through the COA.
